The artist behind the brand
Aashi has been doing makeup in Lucknow for fifteen years. She is entirely self-taught — no academy, no shortcut — and the work has taken her from family weddings to celebrity clients, and into teaching other artists.
Fifteen years in one city means something specific in this trade. She has worked through Lucknow's summers, when a base has to survive forty degrees and a full day of guests, and through December weddings where the light is low and the photographs are unforgiving. Most of what she knows came from solving those problems on real wedding mornings rather than in a classroom.
She now also works as a makeup educator, training artists coming up behind her. Teaching sharpens the work — you cannot explain a technique to someone else until you genuinely understand why it holds.
On the day itself, her approach is simple: the makeup should look like you, and it should still look like you twelve hours later. A bride should not be checking her face in every photograph.
How a booking works
- Message with your date and venue. The first thing to settle is whether the date is open — one bride per morning.
- Trial. The only way to see how a base sits on your skin in daylight and in venue light before the day itself.
- Confirm. Date held on advance.
- Wedding day. Arrival timed so you finish well before your muhurat, not at it.
